Sakura Falls is a cornerstone of my Windows series, where I explore the tension between mid-century architectural rigor and the fleeting nature of spring. I’ve used the stark white grid of the window frame to create a boundary, softened by cherry blossoms that seem to drift across the glass. This dialogue between the hard-edged, green-tiled exterior and the organic "Sakura" is central to the piece.
Inside, a solitary figure draws back a rose-toned curtain, inviting a "soft" voyeurism, a quiet observation of a private morning ritual. I focused on the play of crisp spring light clashing with the soft, diffused interior. By using a complementary palette of deep greens and dusty pinks, I wanted to capture that specific intersection of routine and the sublime, showing how our protective modern spaces interact with the unpredictable beauty of the natural world.
